— INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE SPIRITS: The new era.

Think not that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets: I have not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them; — for, truly I tell you that Heaven and Earth shall not pass away, until all that is found in the law is perfectly fulfilled, while a single iota and a single point remain. (Saint Matthew, chapter V, vv. 17 and 18) Moses.

In the Mosaic law there are two distinct parts: the law of God, promulgated on Mount Sinai, and the civil or disciplinary law, decreed by Moses; 2 the one is invariable; the other, suited to the customs and the character of the people, is modified with time.

The law of God is formulated in the following ten commandments:

I. I am the Lord, your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall not have, before me, other foreign gods. You shall not make a sculpted image, nor any figure of what is above in the heaven, nor below on the Earth, nor of whatever may be in the waters under the earth. You shall not worship them and you shall not render them sovereign worship. II. You shall not pronounce in vain the name of the Lord, your God.

III. Remember to sanctify the day of the sabbath.

IV. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that the Lord your God shall give you.

V. You shall not kill.

VI. You shall not commit adultery.

VII. You shall not steal.

VIII. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

IX. You shall not desire your neighbor's wife.

X. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any of the things that belong to him.
