Spiritist Review — 1866 · Allan Kardec
Chapter 70 of 93
Spiritist cantata.
Words by Mr. Herczka and music by Mr. Armand Toussaint, of Brussels, with piano accompaniment.
This fragment is not given as a mediumistic production, but as the work of an artist inspired by his Spiritist faith. The competent persons who heard its performance agree in attributing to it a real merit, worthy of the subject. We have said many times that, well understood, Spiritism will be a fertile mine for the arts, from which poetry, painting, sculpture, and music will draw new inspirations. There will be Spiritist art, as there was pagan art and Christian art. (Sale for the benefit of the poor.
