Spiritist Review — 1866 · Allan Kardec
Chapter 53 of 93
La voce di Dio.
Italy has a new periodical Spiritist publication. This one is exclusively consecrated to the teaching of the Spirits. Indeed, the first issue contains only mediumistic productions, including the preface and the preliminary discourse. Here is the list of the subjects treated in this issue: Preface, counsels given to the Society for the formation of the journal. – Preliminary discourse, signed by Saint Augustine. – Allegory on Spiritism. – Reverberation of the soul. – Forecasts. – Repentance of a suffering Spirit, conversation. – Work. – The death of Christ. – Collective prayer. Answer to a question asked. All these communications bear an incontestable mark of superiority, from the point of view of morality and the elevation of the thoughts. One can form an idea of them from the one on Work, which we published above.
The Spirits will thus have their journal, and contributors will certainly not be lacking. But, just as among the incarnates, there are some there of all degrees of merit. We count on the judgment of the editors for a rigorous choice among these productions from beyond the grave, which will only gain in clarity and interest if, according to circumstances, they are accompanied by some commentaries. Allan Kardec.
