Spiritist Review — 1862 · Allan Kardec
Chapter 55 of 125
An apocryphal Spiritist in Russia.
Prince D… G… n sends us from Russia a prospectus in the Russian language, beginning with this phrase: “Obouan Bruné, celebrated magician, magnetizer, member of the Spiritist Society of Paris, will have the honor of giving, as announced, a fantastic soirée, in the theater of this city, on April 17, 1862.” There follows a long list of the sleights of hand that this Bruné proposes to perform. We think that the good sense of the numerous adepts that Spiritism counts in Russia will have done justice to this gross imposture. The Spiritist Society of Paris does not know this individual who, in France, would have been prosecuted for ascribing to himself a false quality. Allan Kardec.
