Chapter 33 of 125
Believe in the Spirits of the Lord
Believe in us; we are a spark, A shining ray from the bosom of God, Which upon a new soul resembles The tenderness of heaven to its weeping. Believe in us: a light flame Of a wandering Spirit through the tombs Comes to remove the obstacle, the barrier That between us were thus placed, friends. Believe in us; darkness, lies Are dispersed, for it is from heaven that we come, Tender, joyful, to restore to you in the lyres Of good dreams the sweetness that we feel. Believe in us; we who wander in space To guide you to the Good. Believe in us Who love you… And each hour or step, Dear brothers, leads us to you. Elisa Mercœur. n THE VOICES OF HEAVEN.
Voices of heaven that sigh in the breeze, Murmur in the air and beat upon the waves; And of the forest that the mountains descry Their sighs echo in the depths. Voices of heaven stir in the foliage In the green meadows, in the corners of the woods, Beside the spring where the air is purest The poet sings his verses in weeping. Voices of heaven sing in the groves, In the golden wheat, in the gardens in flower, In the blue that repeats secrets to the clouds, And in the rainbow of splendid colors. Voices of heaven, in silence they weep; Gather yourselves, they speak to the heart; They are the good Spirits who then pray And will at last lead you to the Creator. Elisa Mercœur.
