Chapter 98 of 131
Address of Mr. Dijoud.
WORKSHOP FOREMAN, PRESIDENT OF THE GROUPE SPIRITE DES BROTTEAUX, GIVING THANKS FOR THE ASSISTANCE OF THE GOOD SPIRITS.
My good friends, I come, in the name of all, to thank the good Spirits for having gathered us together and initiated us, through their manifestations, into the divine laws, to which we are all subject; an immense satisfaction for us, on account of the sweet consolations they give us, for they make us bear with patience and resignation the trials and sufferings of this passing life, and because now we no longer ignore the purpose of our incarnations of rough labor and the reward that awaits our Spirit, if we bear them with courage and submission. From them we have also learned that if we heed their counsels and if we practice their sublime morality, it is we ourselves who will bring about the reign of happiness that God promised us through His Son; then egoism, calumny, and malice will disappear from our midst, for we are all brothers and must love one another, help one another, and forgive one another as brothers. It is, therefore, to the invisible call of the superior Spirits that we respond, coming here to bear witness to them, with unanimous heart, of our gratitude. Let us beseech them to preserve for us their protection and their love, and to continue their instructions so sweet, so consoling, so vivifying, which have done us so much good, ever since we had the happiness of receiving their communications. Oh! my friends! How beautiful is the day on which God summoned us! Let us all take the resolution to be good and sincere Spiritists and never to forget this doctrine, which will bring about the happiness of all Humanity, leading men to good. Thanks to the good Spirits who assist us and enlighten us, and thanks to God for having sent them to us.
