Spiritist Review — 1861 · Allan Kardec
Chapter 95 of 131
False news.
A newspaper, we do not know from what country, published some time ago and, it seems, others repeated it, that a solemn conference on Spiritism was to be held, among Messrs. Home, Marcillet, Squire, Delaage, Sardou, Allan Kardec, etc., etc. To those of our readers who may perchance have heard of the matter, we inform them that not everything that is printed is gospel truth, even though it comes out in a newspaper. It is simply false news, seasoned with malice. It is a pity they forgot to put wit into the seasoning. Moreover, we would not be surprised if one day we saw published the decisions of that congress and even quoted words that were supposedly pronounced there. This will cost nothing and, for want of something better, will fill the columns of the newspaper. Allan Kardec.
