Spiritist Review — 1860 · Allan Kardec
Chapter 25 of 148
To the readers of the Review.
Sometimes we receive letters that bear as their only subscription: One of your subscribers, one of your readers, one of your adepts, etc., without other designation. The majority of these letters contain accounts of facts, Spiritist communications, questions asking for an answer or, again, requesting the evocation of certain persons. We deem it our duty to forewarn our readers, subscribers or not, that every unauthenticated letter will be considered not received; thus, we shall give it no attention. In our reports we use great reserve regarding the publication of proper names, because we understand the necessity of certain positions, which is why we cite only those who authorize us. Different, however, is the criterion with respect to the communications they send us: all that is not signed is rejected, even without being read, for our labors have multiplied to such an extent that they do not permit us to occupy ourselves with that which does not have a serious character. Allan Kardec.
